Pls help!!! microKontrol hardware failure. Won't turn on.

Post by goofrider »

My microKontrol won't turn on. When i power it on, the LCD above the main knob lights up (red or green) and the left/right arrow keys both light up red, and nothing happens. This happens both with DC power or USB bus power.

Anyone knows what's the problem? Or can I find a service manual somewhere?

Is it being powered with an adapter, or by usb? Try reinstalling the driver p'haps? If that doesn't do the trick, maybe a faulty cable...?

Oh I didn't think of reinstalling the drivers.. But then, it should show me the main menu when I turn it on, even without usb connectivity.

I tried USB power, DC power, no USB connected, several USB cables, etc. I already took it to the shop for repair, let's see what they say....

Thanks for your help though.

It could be a hardware issue or the microKontrol system firmware may have become corrupt. One thing to try would be a firmware update. If that fails, it would point to a likely hardware problem.

The firmware system updater is here:
