Problems with the SD card

Hi, I own Korg TR61. Everything's fine, but there's a small crak in the left plastic corner of the intrument - it seems to have damaged the SD card slot reader, because as I put that in and press Media mode, Korg will freeze (light's stop blinking, no touch response when pressing keys). SD card's okay because when put in my NB it normally loads (btw, it's kingston 512mb card). Do you think the problem is only in the reader, the motherboard or maybe wrong SD card? thanks a lot for any piece of advice on this stuff.

If the card worked before you cracked it, it's not the card. If at all possible, find someone else with a TR or M50 and try your card in theirs. The card is the easiest possible thing to replace, so if at all possible, rule that out before taking it in for service.

hi kanthos, long time no speak

im learning the ways in the world of MIDI and audio - anyway, back to the problem. A guy told me it could be also caused by the type of SD card (like the older machines wont take the newer SD cards (SDHC)). Other guy told me he's 80% sure it's the motherboard and the Korg may have lifespan from 6months to 6 years depending on how one manipulates with him. I will look for a tr or m50 in my hood. thanks
