M50 Bug? [Solved, not a bug]

Hi,

I don't know whether this bug is me being new to the M50, but this is what it is:-

. In Program mode change the program to D bank, no. 54 (Sine Synth)
. In Program mode's P0/Play page go to the Osc/DT Mixer tab
. Touch the touchscreen so the drum track's volume slider is selected
. Press the Drum Track On/off button on the M50 so it's on
. Press a key on the keyboard to start the drum track
. Lower the drum track volume while it's playing (in the Osc/DT Mixer tab in p0/play Program mode)...

...Now when I lower the drum track's volume to below 100 it starts glitching & when I get to below 80 it mutes & occaissonally comes back. Can anyone else confirm this?

I also copied this program to a blank combi's 1st mixer channel/timbre, with the drum track on the 2nd mixer channel/timbre, then when I played it back I could lower the drum volume without glitching - so it works in combi mode. FYI, I'm using the latest v1.1.0 OS (downloaded from: http://www.korguksupport.co.uk/page.cfm?pageid=632) & the 61 key version.

Thanks for reading, help with this much appreciated :)

This is going to be a tough one...

Truthfully, It does sound like a M50 operating issue. Small & in between, but regardless, the M50 is nothing except a computer set up to do one thing (well, several things, but most of it is basic processing).

Find a work around buddy! I fear your out of luck!

And your post is a little hard to follow, just reading it quickly (FYI).

I'd try redoing the Drum Track. Copy only the beats, paste over to new. Basically start from scratch!

Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Thanks for the reply :)

Sorry if my post is unclear, it's about as clear as I could make it! I don't have to redo my beats or anything, I'm just using the default D Bank 54 patch with the default drum track + pattern on. All I wanted to do is lower the volume of the default drum track while playing...

...It doesn't really matter though, as the Combi workaround works, although not as immediate. I thought I'd post here before contacting Korg support about it. Thanks again.

I have been out of town all weekend and will be getting home tonight. I have the 73 key and would like to try it to see if the 73 key suffers this as well...'

Hi

This is no bug. It has to do with the gate on the end of the IFX-chain. Lowering the treshold should cure the problem.
It seems only the drumtrack goes through the gate, not the sine synth-sound.

Thanks for the reply Harry, you hit the nail on the head :)

Indeed, I didn't think to check the FX chain for the program (being new & all), but will definitely do that in the future! Thanks again for taking the time to help, it's greatly appreciated :)
