Some funk-atronic fun here, hopefully. Not much of a story behind this, just wanted something a bit more on the funky side.

Hi George,

the link does not seem to work, can you check?

I was warming up for the next osam edition and found out that this is probably not going to happen. I understand the reasons; however, if you get involved in something similar somewhere else on the net, please let me know.

cheers
sewa

Another cool song here. I love the sounds and really like the variety. I thought it would be cool if there were bell tones, or some kind of tone that has a high pitched bell sound contributing to the major key melodies. To me, it just seems like that kind of sound would fit during those sections. Just a thought.

Great job once again. 8)

Hi George,

it certainly has a funky groove. The drums kicks in decisively and that is good so. Those solos fit into the funky vibe as well. There are some nice breaks built into the tune and cool transitions such as the one at approx. 2:30. In terms of sounds and mix the quality is top-notch to me.

I'm no longer up to date so what is your rig for the moment? I suppose its all M3 but maybe you also use other gear nowadays. The drums really rock, if that's m3 than I'm impressed.

cheers

thanks, sewa, it's all m3, and i just did a tad of mastering in ozone on the overall mix, i have been really punching the drums and using two separate compressors for the kick and snare so they don't compete with each other and I lower the volume on the other instruments so the drums can cut thru, also, if you notice there is no bass notes or rarely does the bass track sound at the down beat so the kick has its room and the snare hits all by itself a lot also, i'm glad you like this, it's definately my journey thru electronica going on here, i've been doing instrumentals, and i must say its a different learning experience, whereas with vocals, you create a backdrop for the voice, but here the synth has to shine on all sides

Certainly sounds like you had fun making this track George, as well as producing a great tune again. Cool

It was fun, I do so much speedier stuff that that to slow down the tempo and funkify was a lot of fun. Thanks for the listen and for taking the time to comment. It's positive feedback that keeps me going.

Hi George

Some great electronica here - there's so much variety, I had to listen a few times and tune into different layers to take it all in.

This is so punchy and I like the way you take us into new harmonies with new sounds carrying the melody - very exciting!

Dee

And Hello Jon! :D Where have you been?????

Dee, how nice to hear from you. And, yes, I've been exploring more and more what I can do sonically with my M3. Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to listen. People have been saying that my tunes hold their interest all the way thru, which is a good thing in my book.

Hi George...

I never commented on this.... sorry...

I really like it and find it MORE attention holding than many more "produced" things on the tunes places... Very punchy without being intrusive or too aggressive ... Really fine work!! I am still amazed how you have grown over the years with your ability in sound AND production...

My regards!! John (ellll)
