Quickly Switching Sounds in Combi?

Is there any way to press a button or step on a footswitch and instantly mute multiple channels of a combi while unmuting other channels of a combi? For the first time in a while, I've got a 61 key board and I don't have a lot of real estate for splits -- I was hoping I could quickly mute and unmute multiple sounds to make up for it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Much easier is to duplicate the combi then mute the sounds you don't want on the first combi and unmute them on the second. Then use the combi/program up and down feature and assign it to a pedal. Or simply push the up down arrow buttons.
Is not that difficult. Hope I made myself clear.

I tried your suggestion --- I have an issue with the break in the sound that occurs when I switch combis (and the effects setup is the same). I'm playing piano and organ for Tom Pettys "Don't do me like that", so I'm playing continuous eighth notes in my right hand.
I ended up setting up a split with piano on top, piano and organ on bottom, and set up velocity switching so that high velocities above 100 play piano and below play the organ. It actually works pretty well. I can see I'm going to have to be creative to make do with 61 keys.
Sure would be nice if you could set up mute/solo groups in combi mode. Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to do.
Thanks for the help.

If you can't live with the break, you might want to consider playing in sequencer mode. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. A few of us, including me, have talked about the tradeoffs in other threads.

Care to give me a quick rundown on pro's and con's of using sequencer mode for live performance? I used an Alesis Fusion 8HD for the last few years and I did my song setups on it in song mode.
Thanks for the help so far - I appreciate it.

As I said, I talked about the tradeoffs of using sequencer mode over combi mode in another thread 3-6 months ago. It shouldn't be hard to find if you search the forums.

Kanthos - is this the thread to which you are referring?
