Hi,

you may have forgotten to install the M50 USB midi driver. If you don't install it, the standard Windows USB audio device is used. That one will gave the mentioned error.

to elaborate on elpedro's answer:

simply running the installer for the KORG drivers is not enough, unlike most drivers and software. you actually have to bind the driver to the device port in windows by running the utility it puts in start > programs > KORG > USB-MIDI Driver

otherwise windows assigns its default drivers which are incorrect. you may also have to redo this step every time you use the device in a different USB socket or hub on your computer.

This doesn't apply to Apple Mac OSX. Only MS Windows.

Hello friends you have valuable advice I was able to solve the problem drivers, now works. I would still take advantage of your suggestions for a question, how can I record the combi including drum track and arpeggiator with MIDI on different channels by sending Cubase 5? It's possible? I am grateful for your help. Many thanx

You should find the settings in COMBI, page select, P3 Timbre Param. In sequencer mode that would be in P3, Track param.

Elpedro perfect, I tried but when I insert EXT fairway I no longer feel the sound of the Korg M50, I've enabled in Cubase for example MIDI in track M50 1 keyboard midi out M50 1 sound, in practice I would record all the performances via midi that listening to the sound of Korg M50, I tried driving to the parameters but I do not understand why it is not written in my language. Pray that I can spend a short procedure to reach my goal. For now, I can only record MIDI data sent to VSTi instruments but it is obvious that the map of the drum kit Korg M50 does not always correspond to the map of drum VSTi, then I would get around the problem could listen to and record from Korg M50, with its sounds. Sorry if I stretched with the words and thanks again for the information received. :?

not sure what you meant by RECORD combi tracks.
but heres what i do when i have to record combis, i create an AUDIO track in cubase and record them.
Of course they are recorded in WAV format and do not have any MIDI mapping.
