I think a KP3 is going to work out great with my current gear, but I'm having a hard time finding some nitty-gritty details on Korg's site.

Exactly what can the KP3 do and NOT do via USB? Can it be used as an audio interface? Can you route sends through USB? What are some wild and interesting uses for USB on the KP3? I've only heard about basic midi and sample management; which seems like a missed opportunity.

For sample management though, I gather that there are only 4 banks for loaded samples. How far can you push that? Could you have all 4 banks looping with their own individual effects and then have something coming through the line in that is also exposed to effects?

Also can samples be loaded via SD or USB while everything is running? I.E. 4 looped samples doing their thing, and then swapping out one sample for another on the fly. If so, does the new sample inherit the effects that were applied to the bank it has now been loaded into?

usb is only for midi control (including midi clock) and working with kp3 editor (changing configurations / moving samples back & forth)

effects are global, so you have 4 banks playing + input on one mixing bus then effects.

loading/saving samples from sd cards stops everyting.

Does this mean that the effects are applied to all banks and the input at once? You can't have different types of effects for each bank and the input? Or some variation, such as half the banks dry and the other half plus input wet?

nope.

but it is great device anyway. most effecst are wet at the moment you touch the screen, so feature you would like to have implies different workflow than original design.
