Fade out effect with wind instruments

Hello to everyone. My doubt is that when I play a note with, for example, the saxophone, the sound continous until I leave the key. I want the saxophone to sound naturally. When I play a note, I want the sound of saxophone to turn down slowly.

Sorry for my bad English.

Thanks

PS: I have got the Korg PA500

Please open the manual as pdf and write in the search-field "FADE" and push search. Then the acro-reader will show you all themes with "FADE"
Fade in Fade out ....

Or try Shift+Fade...

I wonder if this is a question about "release" rather than "fade" ?

Release parameters control the sound of an individual key once it is released.

Hi Ron
yes that was my mistake, I understood it wrong.

@Ar:
To set a longer release-phase, please push MenĂ¼/Track-Controls/Easy-Edit.
Select the right Track with your Sax-Sound and turn the release-button to the right. So the Sax-Sound will not stop admediately when you leave the key.
You may save this setting with each STS,Perf,Style,Songbook-Entry separately.

I think you actually want to adjust (increase) Decay and adjust (lower) Sustain, because he is asking for it do fade down as he holds the key, not after he holds the key.

Hello Ar,

To do it for yourself, you need to read the Pa800 Advance Edit User guide and see the section about "Sound Edit" mode. Like X-trade says you will need to edit the sound and experiment with the Sustain and Release times for the samples.

http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/pdf/pa800 ... AE-ENG.pdf

If you like, inform me exactly which Saxophone sound you are using and I will produce a step-by-step guide of what to do to edit the sound in the way you are asking.

Best regards,
Rob

You know Rob, I've got the Korg PA500. I've mixed three instruments to get a sound like the Duduk (armenian wind instrument). I approached the sound of the Duduk but, my problem is the following: When I press a key I want the sound to decrease slowly while I press the key. How can I have that effect?

Thanks to everyone for helping me.

Maybe by using a volume pedal, assigned to the specific part.

Menu>AMP>AMP EG> in there play with Decay and Sustain parameters,
set release no more then 05 for a Wind Instrument, forget what Factory
Sounds have, i dont think Korg engineers know what they are doing,
setting Release on a Sax even up to 35-40...funny. That Release might
be even too long for a Bell or Piano, forget Wint instruments where
natural Release is actually equal to 0 and none else.
But the best effect you cant get ONLY with Breath Controller:

1. Connect an expression pedal to the Assignable Pedal input.

2. Press [Global] > [Controllers] and for the Pedal/Footswitch, select Keyboard Expression and perform the calibration.

3. When in Style Play mode, press [Menu] > [Keyboard Ensamble] and under Expression, select the part(s) to control.

AMP is Amplitude and AMP EG is AMP Envelope Generator,
both Termins are in the Synth, you will see them.
