STS settings on pa500 ?

Post by basilraad »

Just got my Korg pa500... (very happy with it)...

Is there a way to change current STS settings to the sounds I want to play in a style instead of what's currently saved? I've been reading the manual and haven't figured this out yet.

Any help is appreciated...

Hi
when you want to change factroy Style/STS, please unlock the write protection before doing.
Then you may save over the menu (right top) each STS with new sounds also to factory-styles and customer-styles.
With "write style performance" you can save changes of instruments, volumes, etc...
Best regards from germany

Thanks for the quick response LESSISMORE! Can you detail how to unlock the write protection? Is this an icon on the screen?

Maybe it's not necessary to alter the STS's with the factory styles.
That is, if you start using the (magnificent!) Songbook to organize your songs.
In the Songbook you can easiliy save new STS's with a certain song.
Just make sure the song is selected in the songbook, choose/make a performance, and save it in the STS by pushing SHIFT and the corresponding STS-button in which you want to store it.

It's the ultimate way to organize your playing, in my opinion, and you don't have to change the factory settings.
I use it all the time. You can also store your pad-settings, volumes etcetera in a songbook entry.

So my advice is: get familiar with the songbook.
