The R3 doesn't have a firewire port. It only has USB-midi, and midi-in/out.

Are you sure, when i plug it in it doesnt show up in my list of keyboards available. I check the manual and it says to make sure i have a korg driver installed

Yes, you need a driver - the Korg USB-midi driver, not the firewire driver.

Firewire and USB are not the same thing. The R3 doesn't have firewire. I am sure. The R3 has USB-midi. Download the Korg USB-midi driver and install it.

With your R3 connected and powered on, please navigate as follows (on a Windows machine):

Start --> All Programs --> Korg --> Korg USB-MIDI Driver Tools --> Install Korg USB-MIDI Device

Please let us know if this takes care of things.
