Just bought the korg zero 8, after 3 years of not having enough cash. Finally got the unit 10 Feb 2010. Using the XLR outputs to Event monitors, Opened all channels to level 10, No noise! Initially had the effect channel active, definite noise, (It is a filter and that will definitely create noise ), Channel FX off, no noise, Hiss, Etc. *Note: My Korg came with an additional pamphlet explaining the new features Version 1.6 added. Does not specify if version 1.6 is already installed or if it needs to be installed? Does anybody know? My serial # 001952, lot# G-9 Is this a unit that has already been upgraded? One problem I did encounter, VU meters - very little movement, regardless of input, output signal. Is there a sensitivity adjustment? Does anyone Know? I would appreciate any help. Thank you...............loopson1 on denon

Never mind whether it is 1.6 Version, read a little, found out version # is displayed on opening screen! Yes I have 1.6

P.S. - I am not running any midi, my initial assessment is based on pure analog signal. I am also using high dollar studio quality (MONSTER) 1/4" to RCA cables-I am coming in thru line on zero 8 channels, all volume's wide open. "dead silence", Can't say the same for 1/8" plug coming from my computer into RCA CD/Line connection, Some noise (Very Little).

To whom it may concern, I am fairly new at posting questions/comments and I thought I had posted on the korg zero 8 area, MY bad please fill free to move to the correct place. Thanks

For anyone reading my initial comment/question, I have since resolved the issue's I was inquiring about. For anyone concerned the VU Meter situation appears to be common. Korg recommended I take it in for service, Not big enough deal for me to take my brand new korg into service. I can live with VU meters not functioning properly. Individual channel meters are working (GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME). The hiss problem does not pertain to analog signal, (At least not in my case). Overall I am impressed with this mixer, it serves my purposes well. (3) denon 5500's, The denon's (WHEN USED PROPERLY) are all inclusive and require no help from any computer program. (I say this to folks who are considering using the zero 8 as an analog DeeJay Mixer). (2) roland sp 555's. Sending signal out Ext 1, into the roland (Use one of it's filters, return processed signal into korg reprocess signal using built in filters/effects, makes for some very interesting sounds. I can finally manipulate the D-Beam synth sound; (Excellent!) For anyone interested in hearing what I do with the denon 5500's (WITHOUT THE AID OF HEADPHONES OR A COMPUTER CHECK ME OUT AT ADDRESS BELOW LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.) The addition of the korg zero 8 will only expand my mixing capabilities................................. loopson1 on denon/roland and now korg.
