SCSI Hard disk for Triton?

Post by mwarsell »

Is this possible? Anyone using one?

I can't order the CF drive from scsiforsamplers.com, it will cost too much (about $230 for the external basic CF reader), because I live in Europe.

So, I'm in search for alternative storage options. Some kind of alternative to Iomega 250Mb zip (which I can't buy either, I mean the USB one to my computer, cannot find one at all. Amazon uk and de have some but they dont deliver to Finland.)

So..any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Since SCSI drivers and hardware where made for servers and not personal computers, I think is hard to find a cheaper solution than the CF flash drive. Maybe trying to get a SCSI drive and external housing, but I don't know if is going to be less than 200 bucks for the whole thing. Think about it and try to stretch your budget for the CF drive. It will pay itself later with convenience and easy of use.

Mention Korg Forums for a 10% Discount!

 mwarsell, I apologize for the overall cost of the external CF-CARD drive when shipped to Europe. The main reason for this high cost is that due to the extreme difficulty in finding new single-bay SCSI cases, we have been forced to use a very heavy, all metal 5.25" external case in which to mount the light CF-CARD drive. This heavy case pushes the cost for shipping up into a rather high cost bracket.

However, starting next week, we will have a limited supply of a smaller, lighter plastic case that will lower the shipping cost to what we hope is a more affordable situation, so please check back late next week if you are still in the market.

:D Also, for anyone who makes a purchase before June 7th, 2010 and mentions their Korg Forums username, we will refund 10% of their merchandise cost across the board (shipping cost not included). You can mention it in the Paypal notes section or email me separately after you place your order.

Also, everyone please don't forget that we have the internal installation kits for the Korg Triton Classic, Triton Rack, Triton Pro and ProX. This kit allows you to mount an internal SCSI drive inside your Triton such as one of our CF-CARD drives or another SCSI drive (provided that it will fit in the floppy drive slot inside the case).

We also have a Package Deals page now that has everything you need for internal or external installation of the CF-CARD drive. The Package deals give you one-click-shopping plus you save a few bucks over the individual cost of the merchandise. You can access this page here:

http://scsiforsamplers.com/cardreader_front.asp

Also, read all about the CF-CARD SCSI Card reader drive or the CF-SSD internal Solid State Drive unit on our Home page (see sig below).

Thanks for reading!

:D Look no further, my friend! We have what you need - the install kit and the card reader drive. You just have to supply the Triton and SCSI interface.

And if anyone has any questions about our products, please contact me directly. There is an email link on our website.

I have the internal CF drive in my Triton and the speed is amazing. Loading samples from zip disks took for ever and so did loading from SCSI-CD drives. Totally worth the price and effort.
