Micro-x not behaving like midi interface on my mac

Post by 4NDRW »

havnt used it with my computer in a long time, but decided to re setup my micro-x and ms2000 make use of them for some tracks

i've put them on a 2 tier stand, set them up with audio leads and power then run a USB cable out to the micro-x, and run MIDI leads between the micro-x and the ms2000.

the mac can see the micro x internal sounds as an output and the keyboard as in input, and the plugin seems to recognise the synth just fine... but

now back when i had a pc, i'm sure the Midi In/Out ports on the micro-x could act like a midi interface to control other external gear when you were using it via USB, but the external Midi ports do not seem to show up in Ableton or in the mac Audio/Midi setup.

i'm running osx 10.5, 2008 Macbook pro.
i've just tried the update to 10.5 and reinstalling the KORG USB driver
and still no joy

AFAIK you cannot communicate with the MIDI ports over USB. That would be cool, though.
