Musical Instrument Created from Random Output. Samples VOL I

4 Banks of ~34 Sounds

The Griffin Avid creates 4 powerful sound banks for the KORG microSAMPLER. These construction kits contain drums mixed with a bass, lead, music and FX elements. Feed your Sampler.

This offering is 4 banks of sounds/samples for the microSAMPLER. There are one or two sample slots left open for your own sampling or loading of samples. I kept the bank arrangement very similar so you can experiment with loading different sound banks with each pattern you create. That should yield some interesting results. Once you get to the sustained melodic elements, you should switch to keyboard mode to play the elements at different pitches. Some drum kits are ‘boosted’ (squashed by the Griffin FX) and it’s normal for them to be louder than the standard drum sounds. You can use the free Soft Editor to load these Sound Banks into your microSAMPLER.

You're very welcome. My home site is www.StudioAVX.com where I have some other goodies and patches for other KORG products.

There's also a volume II.

To those that picked this up; thanks for your support.

MicroSAMPLEs Volume II: Griffin Avid slams in 4 banks of Drum Kits and 2 additional banks of percs. The percs on offer are not cowbells and shakers. These are custom FX and interesting sounds meant to add spice to your tracks. These are presented in both microSAMPLER sound bank format and WAVE format (16-bit 44100 Hz). Approximately 30 sounds per bank. Package contains ~180 Elements. You can use the free Soft Editor to load these Sound Banks into your microSAMPLER.

Checked out the free pack, and interested in getting others... Great Sounds! but big issue for me is that the drum sounds are all "Gate" samples. How can I make them "One Shots"??? The sample packs from KORG contain drum sounds as "One Shot" samples - much more natural when working w/ cymbal crashes and other long decay drum sounds. Is there a way to make these samples "One Shot"? Do any other volumes in this series contain one shot samples?

OK, I see this can be edited in the software by setting "Release" to 127. I will experiment with adding this setting and also "velocity" to some of these sounds. Thanks for sharing!!!

really nice looking banks , can i ask you guys making your own sample banks if its possible to just use the software and drag and drop all sample to keys etc but then just upload the bank ?

i noticed this drag and drop load does not name the samples in the microsampler software and they are all named 'init '? will this mean when i try and upload i end up with one sample as the bank contains samples all with the same name ?

If this is the case does it mean i have to name every sample i load into the software :)

i dont have my microsampler yet but wanted to try and make some banks .
