Art vs Science

Post by cammm »

Big fan of these guys at the moment, Art vs Science. Aussie kids making very raw live performance with keys + a drumkit, its simple music but it's fun. I'm hoping people here can help replicate their sound on the korg R3.

1. The sounds that kicks in at 0:19 and 2:15 are fat and wonderful. I have no idea where to start on these and would love if someone could send through a r3p file for it.
2. The bass line is simple but carries the track, I have something close modified from one of the microkorg patches I think.

1. Main riff is quite distorted and I couldn't get it to sound the same on the R3, unless I just suck at configuring the distortion I'm thinking about using an old guitar effects processor to help replicate this sound.
2. At 1:20 a kind of dodgy synth'd wind instrument ripoff kicks in but it seems to work well in this song.

If anyone is feeling inspired enough to try creating these I'll give you a reach around, or just forum kudos.

Yes great sounds there by those guys.

Check out some of the suggestion in the recent post "WANTED - Fat and Crunchy electronic sounds" as some of the clued up forum members posted some ideas for me to try and emulate a similar type of sound.

Youll find alot of good 'fat' sounds with some tweeking in the areas they recommended. And I think it might help you with where you are heading.
