MIDI transmits no audio data, so that would not work. (You can't send a .wav file via MIDI).

MIDI to USB communication between the Triton & PC would be for note and controller data transmission only.

What trouble are you experiencing with the Triton's floppy drive?

Sometimes it won't load from floppy and sometimes it will. I've got a new drive from korg and it was fine for awhile and then problems started arising again. And i've gotten new floppy disks a number of times

You need the SCSI expansion and a SCSI drive really. Floppys aren't very good for load a lot of samples.
