Korg R3: The modulation wheel is a mistery to me

Hello Korg Users:
I have a problem... well... maybe not a problem, but it's something that's been on my mind for sometime. How do I get the modulation wheel to do exactly what I want? If I want to control resonance, filter, etc how do I do it? I can only seem to use the modulation wheel in the way the preset came. It might be a silly question and I apologize, but even reading the whole manual didn't help me. Thanx in advance to anyone who wants to help.

Hi patonico,

it is simple. Set one or more virtual patches source to ModWheel, then set the destination of that virtual patch to what you want to control (Cutoff, Reso, etc.) The value of intensity on each virtual patch is the amount the mod wheel will then affect the destination. Have in mind that if you have set the cutoff or other parameter of a timbre to max, it couldn't be augmented more, so you have to set a negative intensity or you set the parameter to a middle value so it has enough room to be varied up and down.

Be also aware that in most of the programs the vibrato intensity is also set to values different to 0. If you dont want vibrato on your ModWheel you have to set it to 0.
