Need ideas for musical score

Hey,

I'm trying to compose a score for a film I'm producing in high school film class, and would love some ideas.

I'll give you a synopsis, note, its sort of a drama parody so the plot is kind of ridiculous lol

So 'the student' leaves the lunch room and heads for a movie making class room. when he arrives, he sits alone, passing by all the people talking. The student opens up a word document and taps his finger on his keyboard, unsure of what to type for his script. The screen's typing cursor blinks. We have a flash back to the teacher assigning the project to make a drama script, then com back to the present. Screen still flashes, fingers still tap. Finally, the student stands up, screams, 'I can't take it anymore' and stabs himself with a knife. We end with drops of blood spilling unto the floor.

Kinda gruesome and random lol.

So what do you think? Ideas for what instruments to use maybe? Eerie chord progressions? Anything you can suggest?

I'm thinking of something very simplistic at the moment, probably just one instrument... maybe Logics 'ghost piano' or something of the like. Maybe a clavichord, maybe a violin or string section... not an organ, it'd have too much power.

I also don't know what I should compose the actual music like, I'm gonna stick to my minors... maybe put in diminished chords? problem is, they always sound too out of place for my liking, IDK.

haha i'd agree... very gruesome for a high school film production...

if you want simple, i'd suggest using a piano... like just notes from the bottom octave

I love gruesome productions though :-) you can have so much fun with non-CGI effects in horror (ironically I hate actual horror movies)

so yea I think I catch your drift, sorta just like letting bottom octave notes ring one at a time? I hear it in creepy scores a lot.
