How can I directly sample to a .WAV?

I want to just play around and whatever I play to record as a .WAV file om my connected harddrive, but sample to MEDIA is grayed out?
Is it possible to just play whatever you like and record this within the M3 directly to a USB harddisk?

No, not a song, just airplay and sample this. Or isn't this possible?
(apart from import combi into song, record song, play, sample song as WAV)
Just like a instant record whatever I do to WAV option, that's what I need.

it works the same way ... just follow the directions on page 127, and then change the input from L/R to inputs 1 + 2 - it will record anything picked up by the mics straight to the route directory of your USB in a file called TAKENO00.WAV.

2ch Mix to Media is grayed out here...

-- sorry, my harddisk was in sleep I guess, when I pressed Media and retried it worked. So I do copy from combo/patch, hit sampling record and play all I want. A little different than what I though, but it works allright, just have to pick a combo or a patch before I want to start, in order to remember the bank numbers
