TR & LE compatibility?

There is no TR support in Midiquest universal editor, judging by the instrument list on their website. They support Triton LE though. How comatible TR and LE are? Can I use Midiquest's LE module for editing TR?

Pretty sure that there are no differences between the two, other than the number of multisamples in the factory ROM and the use of CF vs. SD cards. I do know that PCGs are universal across all Triton-class synths (which includes the TR and LE); the TR and LE will just ignore things like the ribbon control that those keyboards don't have.

So, you should be fine. Depending on what you're doing, you might also get LeLibby (which is free) and use that to organize your PCGs instead.

Thank you for pointing me to LeLibby, but I want to do actual editing, not only organizing.

As for Midiquest, I guess I'll never know until I try.

You can actually edit in LeLibby, but the interface isn't terribly great for that. It shouldn't be too hard to try out Midiquest though; just take a PCG (or a single combi or program, however Midiquest does it), make a few modifications, and try and push that back to the TR and see if it works. I'd suspect, though, that everything will be fine; the only place where Midiquest may let you down is if it has a list of all factory ROM multisamples; the TR has more, of course, and I don't know if the order is necessarily the same either (i.e. did all the new multisamples get added after the multisamples on the LE or were they mixed in?)

In perspective from MidiQuest there are only one difference betwen TR & LE: TR has an EX multisample bank what you can't reach from MidiQuest.
Otherwise I find TrEditPro is better and more convenient than MidiQuest for editing programs. For example: MidiQuest can't send a program to the TR just a whole bank, in TrEditpro nearly real time synchronous any modification in a program between what your seen on screen and what you hear from TR ;) And TrEditpro know the EX multisample banks too.
