Question about Triton Drum Kits Quality and Sampled Loops

Post by Alone »

Ok, here's my situation,

I'm into DANCE Music, such as Trance, Techno, R & B, etc.

I used to do my own beats and such for my songs on my Triton SEQ, but a few years back, I tried my songs out with loops that i downloaded from somewhere else created by other people and I was amazed how good they sounded.

HAHHA! Not saying that I'm just a lousy beat maker or good, but I was referrring to the sound quality. The loops I downloaded they just sound much more powerful and realistic and brought my music to life.

Just seems like the drum kits on the Triton just dont cut it against the loops.

So my question is:

1. Do they just sound like that because my drum kits and music r coming from the same channel/ or same keyboard ?

Its hard to explain but if mute your drum track and switch it with a drum loop sample, u will understand what I mean.

were you using any effects on your drum loops? any programs in sequencer mode will be fairly raw. careful use of compression and reverb leads to great drum tracks. I know with only five insert effects it can seem like there isn't enough to go around to create a great track like that, which is why I often do my mixing in a DAW when making tracks. In fact I usually record just using individual programs as audio tracks rather than using sequencer mode - which I mainly use for live performance.

Drum loops which you get will already be heavily processed.
