Using the Korg with a MacBook pro

I've recently purchased a MacBook Pro for sequencing and production, but I'm not too sure about what software package to get.
My set up was a Radias, an ESX, and an Yamaha AW16G.
My method to make music was use the Radias' step sequencer to form the backbone of the track, and programme the ESX in time via Midi, and record a performance into the AW16G, and edit from there.
Examples here (www.soundcloud.com/emilestrunz)
Now, do I programme sequences via say Cubase and record using Cubase, or do I use Ableton? Can i record a step sequence from the Radias into Ableton and edit, or do I have to programme sequences.
I now have the Radias, ESX, MacBook Pro and Tascam US - 122 Midi/USB interface , but I'm a bit lost to be honest
