Did you installed the OS upgrade?
Have you tried a system reset?
Do you have an early serial number unit?

I was checking in Korg official site the instructions to update the system.
http://www.korg.com/uploads/Support/How ... 140000.pdf
It seems that you load a sys file in the SD card. Perhaps it works like a reboot disk. Just a suggestion.

I would strongly recommend the OS update, that could just fix your issue. Good Luck!
ps: the S/N is under your unit, i think it's a 6 character number.

akmon posted the link with the instructions...
apparently, you do need to have a previous system loaded to do it... in that case, mmh, I think you should contact Korg...

If you feel brave enough and competent enough to do it, there are a couple of things you can check..
First, with a voltmeter, check the output of the power supply and make sure it is producing the correct voltage and polarity. This info is printed on the body of the power supply. If the power supply isn't doing its job, nothing is going to work right.
If the power supply checks out, unplug it and take the m50 apart .. very carefully .. just to the point you can access the inside. Check every cable connection to make sure everything is firmly seated. Especially check any ribbon cable connectors as they can have a tendency to get loose during shipping. Take your time and be careful, but it's not rocket science. A human assembled it .. you can partially disassemble it. Of course if you don't feel capable, don't even try it .. not everyone is comfortable with a screwdriver.
If I had the problem I'd take it to the local Korg service guy .. in my case that's about a 3 mile drive. But if I were in your spot, I'd be looking inside for anything obviously wrong before shipping it anywhere.
Good luck. Hope you get it worked out soon.
