Bye bye Open Labs..... I won't miss you.
I posted a few video's of my Lionstracs Open Keyboard over on YouTube and because I used the words Open Labs in the meta tags for the search engine, Open Labs threatened me with legal action if I did not remove the tags. I though that was very underhanded as all I was doing was just sharing info on open keyboards to the YouTube community, but their goal was to suppress any video that showed an alternative to their products.
Regards
Sharp.

Thank you for being a customer of Open Labs products. As you probably heard, there are new owners of Open Labs. The primary reason we acquired the assets was the outstanding relationship that the artists and producers had with the old company.
We want to assure you that we are committed to you and the products that allow you to create, produce and perform. We will honor the warranties, orders, and upgrades that were taken by the old company and look forward to servicing your needs in the future.
While the IP is impressive, the products are outstanding, and the customer service is world class, we know that the company is dependent upon you for success. Therefore, we would like to present you an opportunity to upgrade to RiFF 2.0 at a reduced cost. We are offering a 25% discount to all current customers that would like to upgrade the products to RiFF 2.0 in the next 45 days.
Thank you for your support in the past. We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship going forward.

The debt still exists. It's just someone else problem now.
Open Labs ideally need to work towards dropping the price in order to really fix things. If you saw the inside of one you would know why. It ain't no KORG OASYS inside or a Lionstracs where it's got custom boards that make sure the sound is always clean and so on.
EDIT... Have a read of this.

Didn't know it was only a 32Bit OS either. That means no more than 3GB of RAM will ever be addressed regardless of what you have installed. Not to mention the fact that it's not making use of the 64Bit cores.

That article Really broke it down and proved whats wrong with OL.
Its too bad Lionstrac doesn't have a 37 key or something a bit smaller than the 61. That would make a huge difference for me.

Kinda hard for me to understand the practicality of a workstation with that much horsepower and less than 61 keys.Ultimate Dj wrote:Its too bad Lionstrac doesn't have a 37 key or something a bit smaller than the 61. That would make a huge difference for me.
I have a couple synths with 49 keys and even that's limiting.

Its about space. I don't have space for a 61key. But I figure that if I could get a smaller one than when I needed to I'd just get a 61/76 Midi board.Synthoid wrote:Kinda hard for me to understand the practicality of a workstation with that much horsepower and less than 61 keys.Ultimate Dj wrote:Its too bad Lionstrac doesn't have a 37 key or something a bit smaller than the 61. Kinda like how they have the M3M. That'd be perfect in a Lionstrac!
