KPro wav export - level too low

Hi all,

Just getting back into doing some serious stuff with the KPro after a long break. Have created a number of loops and thought I would try the editor to get them into my new DAW. Got the editor set up fine, export works fine, but the problem is my loops all have a very low level. My DAW can't get them to play at a reasonable volume even with the volume on max. Compared to the pics in the manual, the waveforms look tiny.

I've tried everything - changed the play level in the editor (to maximum), recoirding loops with program volume at max, exporting with phones volume at max, and still the loops are all too low in level.

Anyone encountered this or got any ideas? Couldn't find any posts on the forum that had this issue.

Cheers,

Nigel

While I had mine, I never encountered this problem. I did notice that when importing wav files to the KPro I had to do a fair bit of tinkering to get the right level for using on it but never any problems the other way around. Hmm... :/

I'm pretty sure of one thing though... The headphone volume won't make any difference. :P

OK thanks, I guess I will just have to keep experimenting. Headphone volume, agree, I was just trying every damn thing to see if it made a difference! Seems really odd, the loop waveforms are really "squashed" compared to the examples in the editor manual. I have the right Korg driver installed as well.

What DAW are you using? You could try normalising the audio files, which pushes them up to the maximum level (or a specified level below 0dB) for the loudest peak without clipping.
Often people will normalise to 0, 1, or 3dB.

Normally when you turn the program-volume to the max, the internal sounds will be recorded at a high Level!
If that does not work perhaps your unit is damaged?

Normalize: When you right click on the waveform in the Editor you can "normalize" the wave.
