R3: Trouble using it standalone with external controller.

I just got a new Mac. On my old mac I was able to use my Axiom 49 to control my Korg R3. I was able to do this by routing it through my mac and into the R3. For some reason, my controller is unable to trigger my R3. I am able to use the Editor program with no problem, so I know the R3 is receiving signals from my computer. I checked the Audio/Midi utility setup on the old computer and noticed that the driver was present but nothing was "connected." So, I assume I was able to use this without needing to patch anything there. Also, I am sending midi signals into my computer with no problems. I am able to use the synths in Logic Pro fine. I even set up an external midi track in Logic to make sure, I am still unable to get sound out of the R3.

I tried calling tech support, and they said it couldn't be done, they thought I was crazy. That may be so, but I was able to do this before! In fact, the guys at Korg walked me through this about 4 months ago. I guess things are different there now!

Does anyone have experience with this? Could this be a bug with the Korg Midi driver or OS 10.6?

So if i get you right your old mac passed the midi through, the new one doesnt.
I even set up an external midi track in Logic to make sure, I am still unable to get sound out of the R3.
This should work, does the track receive the midi from the controller? Does midi from the track reaches the R3?

Actually, I was able to get sound out it through an external midi track in Logic finally. I reinstalled the driver. Somehow that worked! In terms of standalone operation, I can't find a way to do that.....maybe I was imagining things after all!!

Buy any ideas on this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
