Hi All,

I am an extremely happy R3 owner, but it just seems that the Radias has a couple of cooler features (and of course the 'direct access' of the many knobs). And the rack version just looks super cool, so I have been seriously thinking about getting a Radias (rack) as well.

Then I did a quick search on this forum for 'Radias vs R3' so that I could get a short list of what ADDITIONAL features the Radias has that the R3 doesn't but I didn't seem to find the right threads. (I am sure this has been answered a million times)

Does anyone have a list handy of what additional features the Radias has that the R3 doesn't?

(Also conversely, are there any features that the R3 has that the Radias doesn't - except for the obvious of 'keys')

Radias has:
-Four timbres per program
-24 note polyphony
-three modulation sequencers per timbre
-16 part drum timbre mode where each of the 16 parts has a full synth signal path (both oscillators, both filters, drive/waveshaper)
-PCM waveforms of organ, guitar, bass, strings, etc - they replace some of the DWGS waves, but there are still many DWGS waves too
-Drum PCM samples. These are cool for the drum kits, but also very handy as attack samples when emulating physical modelling sounds with BPF or comb filter
-Plenty of knobs, buttons, and LEDs on the front panel represent the most commonly tweaked controls, but there is still plenty under the hood which you can access from the (IMO) fairly ample screen. I don't have a problem editing patches completely from the control surface and screen.
-Two step sequencers (optionally transposable) in addition to the arpeggiator. These are different to the modulation sequencers - they chuck out notes, not parameter changes. Good for basslines and drum rhythms.
-extensive MIDI, filtering, routing, and key splitting control over each timbre
-Envelope follower - can be used to create sidechain effects, or to trigger notes (although no pitch tracking) - great for making effects processor programs like guitar amp simulations, etc.
-Internal Bus - route the output of one timbre to the input of another.
-Looks REALLY COOL in a darkened room... (when switched on, obviously)

Wow, that is quite a list. I didn't realize that the radias has quite as much more 'horsepower' compared with the r3.

I must admit I am most excited by the step sequencer, (and of course the knobs for direct editing)

I think I should get one...
