I am after some fellow MicrokorgXL owners to test a new patch sharing web application I am currently developing. Just visit the website with your XL plugged in and you can click on a patch to have it automatically download from the web to your XL.

Click below to give it a try:

It's still fairly early in development so whatever you do don't use it to backup your patches. It should work on all platforms (Linux/OSX/Windows) and you don't need any other applications/hardware. Just your plug in your XL go to the website ready to go. You'll know if it's connected if you see all your patches come up in the display.

At the moment it's only been populated with the XL Factory patches but hopefully I'll be adding some of my own soon.

If anyone has any problems with the application not working or not connecting to your Microkorg please let me know.

Added Howard Scarr's fantastic patches so it is now somewhat useful. Will be much more useful once I get a few users to start rating patches  .

Hi there!

I like your idea here, but I'm not able to receive the patch into my microkorg xl. When I drag the name of the patch in the display I can't drop it in any slot. Hope you could fix it!

Can you click on a patch in the list and get it to appear as the current patch on your microKORG? If not then you probably need to select a different midi in/out device. Does the microKORG appear in the list of in/out devices?

I just recently uploaded a new version, should be much faster now. So far only 3 people have actually created patches so it's going to take a while before it reaches critical mass.
Please feel free to send me any bug reports or suggestions.

Classy program. Thank you for doing this.

The program worked great and I uploaded a few patches. I'm mostly interested in bass type sounds as I use the microKorg XL with a R****d pk5 in a prog rock type band.

Can't make it work!

I uploaded 128 new patches to the share site last night. Enjoy! I have many more to finish converting using the editors. Slow but satisfying work.

To the previous poster: Do you have Java runtime installed?

Have a great day, Narfman

devilwidget - What OS/Java version are you running?

For OSX only the latest versions of Java have midi support.

I'm still working on converting more of these patches. Thanks so much for the great feedback. Shannon deserves most of the credit for creating his site so we can share our endeavors!
Rock on, Narf

Thanks Narfman, I actually hoped the site would be more successful, thus far I have had almost no bug reports or feature requests and very few people have created or even rated patches. Is there anything missing from the app that would help it really take off? If I was going to add more synth models, which would be the best to target?
