NanoPad dead pads

I finally received my nanoPad in the mail today, but when I install the drivers and hook it up with Logic, only the XY pad is recognized by the midi monitor--none of the pads produce any signal.
Have I done something or missed a step? Or have I just received a set of completely dead pads. Note that I did download the Kontrol Editor, yet altering these settings has no effect.
On a side note--Korg support was quite unhelpful today, when I called they told me their one nano series support member was out of the office and would be back in an hour, then hung up.

Hi, I had the same issue with a nanoPad which I sent back to the shop last week. They have to send me a new one, but I red that is a very common problem, so it may happen with this new again.
Please, if the Korg support have replied, just inform me about what they said.

Hey smassh,
I'm sorry about the experience you had when calling up last week. Typically speaking, when one of our specialists is not available (meetings, trainings, lunch, etc.), customers are instructed that they may call back in X amount of time (when the specialist is expected back in the office), send an e-mail or leave a voicemail and get a call back later that day. If these options were not given to you, I sincerely apologize and will be following up with my staff.
Relative to your nanoPAD, please feel free to give a call back during our business hours or send an e-mail to support at korgusa.com (US customers only!) and we'll see if we can troubleshoot a bit further.
Again, my sincere apologies.
Best regards,
Max

Hey smassh,
any news about this issue? Did they say anything that could help?
I'm writing from Italy and found that korg.it it's sort of a ghost site, whereas korg.us gives support only to american customers. So, I can receive no support.
Here on this site there is a topic where one can read of a "velocity sensitive circuitry" problem, but there is no explanation of how it can be solved.
Please, if you have a solution let me know.

Hi,
A few days ago I've sent the nanoPad back to the shop musiclandia.eu.com (Protel srl) and I'm waiting for a new one or to a suggestion on how to get the old one working.
In the past weeks I had already tried to contact Eko Music Group S.p.A. via mail but they did not reply. Next week I should receive a new or repaired nanoPad. I will see then, and if the case post a reply on this topic.
In the meantime any ideas/tips/clues from Korg USA Product Support will be sincerely appreciated.

So, do you have an answer for the dead pads. I have the same problem and I only received one e-mail from Korg Support after the initial confirmation email. The message merely asked if I tried all scenes and I responded with a resounding, "Yes!"
Can you help us out? It would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,

Korg immediately sent out a new pad that they tested first. their response was quick and friendly. That's one of the reasons I own no less than 6 keyboards & stuff by Korg.
Same problem...

Hi, I have exactly the same problem..the pads don't respond, only the xy works.. But I also have another problem
I bought the pads last year together with a nanokontrol and a nanokey (which works perfect) and I used them for the first time last week when I purchased a new iMac. I cant find the receipt from the shop so I wonder if there is any way to get support/warranty through internet, like a worldwide warranty or something? (I live in Spain, Malaga) Would really appreciate a answer, because I cant wait to do some nice drums with the pads
Thanks!

I bought the nano from Audio Midi on internet, and for that reason I had saved the confirmation & shipping emails from them. I was able to send Korg copies of the said emails. Beyond that I cannot say I'm afraid.

I will say though, I think they are very familiar with that problem at Korg.

Perhaps the store that sold you those things has a copy of the paperwork.

I got my nanopad a couple of years ago, never used it much, plugged in again a couple of months back, and some pads not working. I tried again over a few days, and it seemed to get worse. Then I Googled, and found many complaints about the pads failing. So now I have a spare usb cable.
Pity really, when it worked, I liked the pad sensitivity and response.
