...... light up orange

The manual says that after you erase a phrase, the loop recorder bank button will light up orange. So either someone is colorblind, or it is normal for mine to turn yellow, just like the ones already playing. Now I can't tell the difference between an empty bank, and one that's making a sound or two.
So if someone (A) names orange orange, and someone else (B) perceives that orange as the yellow he (B) calls yellow, then (B) tells (A) to name the colour (A) perceives as orange... yellow. From that moment on (A) calls what he perceives as orange, yellow. Although you can't say that he perceives it as orange, because the word orange relates to something perceived differently by different people.
No judgement without colour.
Anyway, I think these guys are yellow

cardboardcorn... I think you're talking about a KP3 when the OP is talking about a KPro. Although I may be wrong.
As for the colour problem... It's not a problem. You're erasing by just rubbing out what is recorded on the bank but still allowing it to be a looped phrase in playback mode, but just with no audio on it. I believe when you erase using the other method (I think it's shift + erase followed by the bank you want to erase), the bank will go orange.

Yes I forgot to say I was talking about the Kaossilator Pro.
And doesn't shift+erase stop all audio?

It does stop the audio, yes. But erasing any other way will not give you your oh-so-sought-after orange light.

What's the use of having a looped phrase with no audio on it? The only thing I can think of is that you can mute and unmute the one channel that has audio on it without losing synchronisation/having that phrase start from its beginning. Only now you can't tell which phrase has audio playing and which ones you just erased, because they are all yellow. There should be an option to keep the synchronisation going without having to keep at least one phrase playing. As it is now, even when midi sync is switched on, the synchronisation is lost once you have muted all phrases and turn one on again. And when you erase a phrase its light should turn orange or off.
At least thats what I think.... Sometimes.

The ability to erase all audio and still have a loop bank playing back is not really a function in itself, it is more an extension of the ability to erase some of the audio.
However, when I had my KPro, I used to have to have one bank running in silence to combat the awful latency of switching on playback of a bank from an all-muted state. I agree. This shouldn't have been an issue and synchronisation should have continued even in that all-muted state.
As for not knowing which has audio and which does not, admittedly the lights should probably have been configured slightly better to help you BUT you do only have four banks to remember.

I suggest that if you're doing what I used to do (as above), just always use one bank (D, for example) as your "silent sync".
