I have a Korg R3 and a Motif-Rack ES with a Rocktron Banshee Talkbox. I have searched the net high & low for guides and videos on setting up or patching the sound to get this effect that Zapp & Roger used for various sounds like California Love & Computer Love. I want this sound. I bought the R3 cause the official korg youtube video said it was the big brother of the microkorg. so in my eyes if it can do it. and there a million guides & videos teaching you how to do this on the micro. then you must be able to on the R3. I usually produce with stock sounds. but the farther im going and more complex i want to be i am slowly learning about customizing my sounds/patches. but im afraid i have no idea how to do that on the r3 & little/some on the rack es. if anymore can help me out i would greatly be thankful. its weird the r3 doesnt have that many topics online about compared to the micro and the micro xl. but i have see it done on the r3. THANK YOU soo much for reading my post.
i know the basics. u need a mono, sawtooth, dry, no effects, sound, & something about initlizing it to its raw saw sound and going from there. but i dont know how to start. so could someone tell me in detail how to! thanks again

So, did you get your R3 to play the dry sawtooth?
-No? Read the manual!
-Yes? Maybe ask this question on a different forum as it doesnt seem to have much to do with the R3 itself.
Sorry i can´t be of more help, never played with a talkbox myself.

if by dry sawtooth, you mean a sawtooth with nothing done to it... just initialize a program. its in the manual.

R3 Manual P19:
Select the program that you want to start from. (☞p.12)
If you want to start from scratch, execute the Initialize operation. (☞p.75)
R3 Manual P75:
Copying and exchanging timbres/ Initializing a program
2-1 INIT PROGRAM
Initializing a program
Here’s how to initialize the settings of the currently selected program.
Procedure
1 Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the Program Select [2] button. The [2] button will blink. The main display will show the name of the currently selected program.
2 To initialize the program, press the [2] button (again). The program will be initialized, and you'll return to Play mode.
If you decide not to initialize the program, press the [EXIT] button.
'Initialize' means to set a program or timbre to its
default settings which is just a plain sawtooth and completely open low pass filter.
