Yes - I couldn't agree more that Rob has been outstanding. BUT, let's be fair - if he has chosen another calling (
) I think we should respect his desires and needs to change. I don't want to pressure him to stay if it interferes with his requirements and personal time.
Anyhow I vote "Keyboard Prime Minister" for Rob and wish him all the best for his future with an enormous "THANK YOU"
Pete

This is very nice of you my friends. I thank you for your kind words but am sorry that I can't continue providing technical support for Korg products.
I am regularly in contact with Sharp about new developments. If he and I decide to launch a new product for keyboard players, then be assured that both of us will be fully committed to providing an excellent level of technical support, with video based training etc.
Best regards,
Rob

I'm as sorry as anyone to see you move on, Rob, and I wish all the very best for the future. It's been good to "know you" via this forum. It is, at least, very heartening to read that you may continue with your excellent and well-regarded expertise in things Korg. Thanks for everything, Giner.Rob Sherratt wrote:I am regularly in contact with Sharp about new developments. Mr. Rob,
Many thanks for all the expertise you shared with us in the past years.
You've been of great help.
Respect for your choice, but I will surely miss the "Eagle with the authority-look"-avatar!
I wish you all the best & good luck with all your activities, both in music & elsewhere.

I have not been posting for over a year. Just reading sometimes. But since it is about Rob, I am obligated to make an exception and post once again. For those who didn't find it:
About number 2 the reliability it is only for some. There is always a little percentage products that don't work properly, but more than 95% does. Look at the LED problem: looks big, but I only see maybe 7 names in the thread... now does that sound like a problem ?
About number 3 Rob knows that it is possible to merge styles, but it is way to difficult to explain normally to people. And it is way too much work than it should be nowadays.
But I think problem 3 is connected to problem 1. I think Korg also knows that its OS is way to difficult based on the old keyboards. Korg should come with a total new revolution of OS which can be managed by a computer or onboard. If so, it is obvious why Korg cannot improve with coming up with new OS for the "old" versions.
But if Korg comes with a PA3x with same OS, it means they have done nothing over the past 2 years. Which would be a shame.
On the other hand, I totally agree with Nedim that people are depending too much on 3rd parties, whilst the PA800 and PA2x are perfect keyboards to make your own styles, however you want them. You have all the freedom in the world and it is pretty easy.
So the keyboard is not the limit factor, but the player.
Rob has been one of the leaders here. I respect him very much and he has helped many players in the past on all different kinds.
I wish you all the best Rob.
I have to agree with Rob on number 1. It has been 2 years since a new OS. Korg does not need to do this, but they have always stated that backing up customers was their goal. Of course as a brand you cannot keep improving "old" products, because you need to sell new ones, but this is totally out of order. Only 1 relevant update is way to little.Rob Sherratt wrote:I'm still around and hope to have some positive things to say soon. Sadly my interests have moved away from Korg products. Several reasons:
1. Too little backup and innovation from Korg themselves to keep it interesting for me.
2. Many of the Korg products I've used have been unreliable.
3. Lack of open interfaces and tools for managing the User's data such as styles and sounds.
4. Kevin Spargo's (K-Sounds) libellous video, which is costing me time and money to progress a libel suit in North Carolina.
Best regards,
Rob

Thanks macboy!
According to the "Korg slides" Nedim posted at Synthzone - General Arranger Forum, the Pa3x has pretty much the same OS as the Pa2x. The one thing that would make a substantial difference for professional musicians - file management for 3rd party sounds/ styles is evidently not in scope. IMHO this "new product" is a slap in the face to existing Pa series customers.
