Hey just wondering how you guys go about cleaning it. Everytime i clean it, i get this grainy residue that i keep having to rub to get out. Makes me scared im doing it wrong? Any spray cleaners do the trick?
Also, my buttons are getting that brownish look, how do i get them back to new looking?

1) I like her a bit dirty, it makes her feel naughtier
2) no, really: I painted it black (seriously). Only way of getting rid of the "I once was white, will never be again" look.

here it is.
Answers:
1) I have no idea what kind of paint was used. Customsynths did it
2) forget about going back to the native colour. I just bought a spare case.

Please let us know if you find out. However, there is also the white text on there...was that stenciled?
There is also
www.forat.com. They do synth customizations in California:

the white text is silkscreened.
It's not exactly the original, I asked for some minor details to be rewritten (also: the Korg logo on the back is the old analogue korg logo)
Next time I dare to criticize the M3 for some detail which doesn't work,
and ANYBODY scolds me for being an un-believer

or maybe even (Korg forbid) a closet motif user

,
I'd better just post these pictures. They added 300 euros to the cost of my M3 and mean that I usually keep my synths for decades.
This is also why I "dare" criticizing them. It's like an old wife: she won't stop complaining, and yet...

Oh, I forgot: really important:
you can make a
cheap and reversible customization using these products:
http://www.styleflip.com
They make customizable plastic covers for M3.
check the catalogue.
I customized my mopho by blackening it.
50 usd, far less that painting for 200/300.

The black looks wonderful. But I don't think I can get it done where I live.
What about cleaning? Is it going to start rusting if I take a slightly damp sponge to it? Rubbing alcohol?

I've only had to clean my M3 a few times. I used a micro-fiber towel soaked in very hot water and then rung out until it's just damp. This will help dissolve oil and dirt that has accumulated. I then follow that up by using a clean web duster in a back and forth motion to quickly evaporate any water on the surface. I do one section at a time. I clean the LCD screen with Novus plastic polish. If the sliders are dirty I simply remove and clean them with the plastic polish and a terry cloth towel.
