Hi,

Are there downloadable demos of the Korg Legacy plug-ins (for Windows machines)?
If so, where can I find them? (it's either not obvious, or I'm being stupid)

Thanks

if you have a korg user net account (which i assume you probably already have) you can download the installers, then you can try them for 30days.

[edit] don't know for sure but it's possible you already need some korg legacy bundle to see the installers

from the KLC InstallSetup guide

After installing the software, you must verify your license via the Internet and obtain a license code that will activate the software. When you start up the software, the “Licence Authorization” screen will appear. Click [Licence Authorization]. If you don’t want to activate your license right now, click [Exit]. You will be able to use the software for a period of thirty days even without obtaining a license code.

Hi jazztronauts, thanks for your response.

I don't actually have a korg user account, in fact I've never bought anything from Korg. I never buy anything without first trying it, hence why I was after demo software. All I've found are some MP3 demos, but that's no good! And you can't seem to register on korguser.net without having purchased a Korg product in the first place.

I am not sure if Korg ever had demo versions available.

The question to answer is if you like the sound of the original products, since these are all nearly identical to the original hardware products.

I own them all, having first purchased KLC-1, then KLC-DE, then KLC-AE07.

If I didn't already own them, I wouldn't think twice about buying the the entire bundle for $200.

I believe you need an account before you can access the demos. But you don't actually need to make any purchases to have an account. See: "NEW USERS CLICK HERE!" box at the top right of the http://www.korguser.net page.

If I go there, click "NEW USERS CLICK HERE!", I then enter my details (name, address, etc). But the page that follows requires details of the product being registered; you can't skip this page, you must register a product! I have nothing to register (yet) so can't go any further. (Thinking it might be a browser problem, I've tried this using both Chrome and IE, but no difference.) Thanks anyway.

Sorry about that!

Just seen this method on another forum:
breakmixer wrote:1. Go here http://www.korguser.net/shop/software/
2. Click on a product 'Buy' button
3. Click on 'Don't have an account yet? Create it before purchase.'
4. Fill in 'Sign Up' form
5. Click Next, takes you to a check out page! Now close it!
6. Go here http://www.korguser.net/login.asp?OS=WIN&LAN=1&TOP=1
7. Using the email/password you created log in
8. Click 'Download for registered users'
9. You should now be in the download area, click a product UI
10. Choose a download link from the different servers/Save

I just done this whole routine using a bullshit email/new password and it got me there again...

Copy/Paste and try this exact method!

Edit - I did notice this info below on the site, maybe this'll help

Thanks Mad Jack, that works for me :)
(had to use IE though, Chrome isn't supported and doesn't work).

I've downloaded and installed the plugins, and have been given 30 days in which to try these out. I've had a very quick look, and I must say I'm very impressed by the quality, it's a shame Korg are making them hard to get! It looks like I'm going to be buying at least one or two of these after all...

Many thanks to you all for your help!
