Hi,
I have a korg radias and an imac. Going to load up Ableton live 5 later on this week. Going to buy a midi keyboard.

What else do need to 'join it all up' and getting it syncronised? Audio interface? mixer, perhaps?

This is witha view to ceating a set and playing out live with the whole set up.

Any help and advice muchly appreciated!!

All you will need is an audio interface. The Radias has it's own USB/MIDI Interface built in.

could u recommened an interface for about £100? Need to be able to plug in a mic, Radias, Novation Bass Station and the computer, of course. Would like to use Ableton as an effects proccessor (?) for the mic and bass station.

Chose an imac because 4gig Ram and v large screen but much cheaper (£400 less than a macbook pro).

Seperate keyboard in case of spillages!.

Considering you mention £, I imagine you're in the UK. DV's site is great at least for putting things in order of price etc. You might find things cheaper elsewhere though. http://www.dv247.com/search/2974/0/Prod ... nding/-/1/

If you have a Bassstation too, will you be wanting to plug both in at the same time? In which case you'll struggle to find something with that many inputs under £100. A USB or Firewire (if the iMac has firewire) mixer might take you further.

I use an Alesis MultiMix12 Firewire. I think they do USB connected mixers too.

You can run the BassStation through the Radias' audio inputs in lieu of a mixer. Then in the Global menu set the audio inputs for direct through.

The alesis mixers with built in audio interface are pretty good. As I mentioned I use the MultiMix 12 Firewire.

I think the difference between the USB and FireWire models is that with FireWire you get each channel strip as a separate input (which is great when working with multiple synth lines or from live performances with multiple keyboards) in the software, whereas with the USB one you only get a stereo mix so you'll can only really record one part at a time to a track.

It would allow you to plug in both of your synths into a relatively good mixer and not have to worry about a separate audio interface though.

its simple to use, inexpensive and effective for use with an r3.
has mic slots, midi, 1/4 inch and headphones
also has an external for speakers.
