Hi!

I've been trying out the MS20 demo. I like it very much, but there's one thing I don't understand - why is the window so small and is there any way to resize it so that all the controls on the Edit pane will be visible?

There's a button that you click on that greatly enlarges the interface, but then you have to scroll on the bottom to access parameters that are out of view.

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible you can point me in the right direction - I haven't been able to locate that button.

new GUI from korg for their softwares have been asked so much time ......... it's truly annoying to work with so tiny interface. do we need to go to 640x480 or 800x600 screen resolution in 2010 ????

at least, the sound is good !

Sure. At the bottom of the GUI, you will see a bunch of round switches. The first one is caled Main and is the default. To its right is the Edit. Click on that and then use the space bar to get access to the right or left parameters.

Oh, thanks - but that's the one I was asking about - if there was way to increase the size of the GUI so you could see all the controls on the Edit pane.

From what RC-IA says, it doesn't sound like it.

Ended up buying it anyway.

Is there anywhere you can file a request?

Ah - unfortunately, exactly the topic I was looking for!

Sad to see there's no solution for this!
IMO, it's pretty strange to not provide a proper interface for this type of synth.
It's all about fiddling the knobs, right? Having a go at them all, trying out different patch combinations etc, etc.
With this small, awkward interface where you can't even see everything at the same time, all that is left is more deterministic programming. It takes out more than half the fun of this synth. Too bad :-(

Instead, they redirected dev resources to the iMS20; which looks like an excellent app!

Here you have the layout I'd like, plus you get a drum machine, Kaoss funcs and so on. Looks like great fun. If you have an iPad.
Please, please Korg, can't you port this to an OS X AudioUnit plug as well? :-o

Try and write Korg - http://www.korg.com/contactus.aspx - if enough people request interface improvements, maybe they'll do something about it.

The iMS-20 is a much better instrument but lacks the automation possibilities of the plugin.

Yeah, good point.
I'll try the "contact Korg" route :-}

Too bad the contact form only allows 500 chars.
What I wanted to send:
Hi Korg,
i purchased the MS-20 Legacy plugin for my mac (AU).

After eagerly playing with the presets, I started to try and program the thing, but was quickly discouraged by the small window. I know you can enter EDIT MODE and get a somewhat zoomed view, but you can't see all controls at the sometime.
And I want that, as do may other users.

IMO, it's pretty strange to not provide a proper interface for this type of synth. It's all about fiddling the knobs and wildly rewiring the patches, right? Having a go at them all, trying out different combinations etc, etc.
With this small, awkward interface where you can't even see everything at the same time, all that is left is deterministic programming. Where you actually have a goal and know what you're doing. Which I don't.
It takes out more than half the fun of this synth.

But I noticed the iMS20; which really looks like an excellent app!

What you don't get on the iPad, is of course automation options, plus the fact that's it's not integrated in your DAW :)

Please, please Korg, can't you port this to an OS X AudioUnit plug as well? So the Ms-20 Legacy can have the inviting, inspiring, allow-for-free-form-noodling interface that it deserves!
Maybe there are limitations in the plugin architecture that forces such a small window, but I'd settle for a proper interface in the standalone version, so I could play around and make patches there.

Which had to be cropped down to:

What I expect from this? NOTHING.
But at least I tried :)

All good points!

I sent them another request myself.

Ah!

Here's to the most useless support reply ever: :beer
Hello,
According to our database you are located in Norway. For support in your country, please contact your local Korg distributor: http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distributors/.

Best regards,

You can't help but wonder if they actually read it :D
