Hi all, i'm a new member and a new radias owner, does the set sequencer/arpeggiator produce MIDI on the midi out port?
I want to control a Moog Voyager with the radias sequencer/arpeggiator, so i've heard that radias don't transmit midi messages with arpeggiator, infact if i connect it to logic and i play an arpeggio, nothing is writed on the piano roll, (the micro X instead does it).
I've read also about a trick to solve this problem but i didn't understand the procedure because of my poor english...
Could someone PLEASE describe me the procedure stepbystep to control the Voyager with the radias arpeggiator/sequencer? The voyager have midi in/out but i have a miditocv converter just in case.....
Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

Yes, you can send both step sequencer and arpeggiator data over MIDI.

See page 114 in the manual:

P01–1: COMMON -> 3: Position -> PostKBD to have sequencer and arp data sent over MIDI, PreTG to not send it.

Mod sequencer data cannot be sent over MIDI.

Thak you very much for the quick reply...one last thing: it's the same with or without the kayboard attached to the expander right? i can disconnect the keyboard and the arp/seq data will be send over midi out?
thank you!

I'm thinking possibly not...
I haven't tested it but from memory the ConvertPosition is where in the synth MIDI goes IN and OUT.

So if the convertpos is post-arpeggiator, then incoming MIDI comes in after the arpeggiator module.

This means that you can record from the built in keyboard into your DAW or other sequencer, and choose whether to record the notes that you actually play or the notes that the arp generates. And then send it back again without having to switch modes.. As far as I remember anyway.

To be honest it is the first major limitation for us rack-only users that I have come across. Other differences are fairly trivial.

This is a trick question!

In the Post KBD mode, if you want to send arp and sequencer data over MIDI and you are not using the Radias keyboard you have to use the 16 buttons on the front panel to input the notes. Not super convenient but it does work.

Take a look at the diagrams on page 114 of the manual.[/i]

OK thanks to both very much! i've tested with keyb and all is working, now i have to try without keyb...i'll connect radias midi out into moog midi in and moog midi out into radias midi in, to try to play radias notes with Voyager's keyb and so....reading the manual in POSTkeyb mode the incoming midi are going to the timbre directly without passing thru the arp/seq, while the outcoming midi are influenced by the sequencer!
Anyway playing the sequencer/arpeggiator with the 16 buttons is not difficult, just little switching on the select buttons between trigger/keyboard position, but is quite intuitive...but the best it would be if the moog keyb could be used to construct sequences on the radias!
I'm, surprised by the lots of functions and features of this sytnth! I's a V.a. it' an arpeggiator, a sequencer, a drum machine! it's a swiss army knife!
So thanks again i will post the final results, if it will work the integration with my others analog machine wil be total!
Sorry for my poor english, All the best
