The ims20 app is quite complicated. Why not just make a video where someone at KORG goes through the app step by step and explains everything. It took me hours to figure out how to assign parameters to the kaoss pads for example, and i still cant figure out what all the wire connections does. How to use the mod wheel is a mystery and what does that little button in the lower left corner do? It cant be that hard, even if its a 30 minutes long clip you should be able to do it quite easily since you made the app and knows all about it.

Most of the users of this app never touched a real ms20 and i guess at least half of us are new to this kind of advanced sound editing. Its time to upload some videos to keep that no-sound introduction clip company :)

Hi there,

A tutorial video would be nice but to be honest, most of what you have questioned has already been answered in these forums

Have a good trawl these posts and you will find the app all of a sudden becomes a little less daunting :D

It can also be fun to try a little experimentation yourself, after all, there is nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

Dont give up on this great app just yet :D

Cheers,

Krog

Well there is only one movie with sound, the one with the singing sound. Not what im looking for tho. I would like to see someone who explains stuff, "- to enable the mod wheel you....blablabla" "- this cable output is for blablabla and if you connect it to here you get this effect". Not just someone demonstrating ther awesome singing sound. After all its named "video tutorials", not showroom

The entire concept of 'patching' is not specific to the iMS20, nor any other synth. It has existed ever since the first modular synthesizers.

If you want something to affect something else, you connect it.
for example, you want the modwheel to affect the cutoff, so you connect the modwheel output (over on the right somewhere) to the cutoff input. Then there is a knob labeled 'EG2/EXT' or something like that that controls the amount of modulation.
It is labelled EG2/EXT because when you connect something to that port on the panel, it breaks the 'normal' connection, which is from EG2 in this example).
