Here's a new track. It was partly inspired by certain bits from Daft Punk's soundtrack to Tron: Legacy, but actually I just wanted to demonstrate a programming technique for the Radias discussed in another thread.

In this case, The 'TB-303 style' bassline has its filter EG attack and decay modulated by the modulation sequencer.

Also of note, this entire track was recorded in one single take, completely in realtime (okay, I took a bit longer than a bar and had to move the 'gap' after the intro up so that it was in time).

Nice job! I like the modulations. One suggestion would be to give the rhythm track some variation to enhance the rest of it, to help with the build ups, breaks, and tear-down. Another would be to try some pads or longer melodies with the same theme as an additional layer. Just some ideas to kick around.

I was trying to keep this one all 'in the box' (box being the Radias in this case) and recorded all in one go, so my hands were pretty busy.
If I rework it I will probably use the ES-1 for the drums so that I can change them up and down easily between a few variations of the patterns.

Drum features like fills and breaks still aren't really my strong point..

Yeah, ES-1 for the rhythm and Radias for the rest sounds like a great combo. I wouldn't suggest that you try to make a point of songs that use only the Radias, just keep making songs that you like with whatever equipment you have, even if it includes tuned soda bottles with water, hitting trashcans with sticks, or other "found musical art". You can always use the ES to sample the Radias. The drum patterns on the KP3, Kaossilator, and Kaossilator Pro all sound great with lots of variation in the rhythm.

Hi really liked the main modulated bassline and liked the patch that that came in at 2:10. I prefer the way it was used here rather than after the second drop where you hi-pass the TB

Even *if* a synth like this could give you a decent beat, it's never going to be more than a basic kick/sn/hat pattern... breaks and fills to sound natural done in the box is impossible imo.

I like the fact it was all done in one take I must say, well done. Just shows the versatility of the beast. But ultimately you're never going to make a whole tune on one and be happy with it... <thinks>..well... maybe with the step sequencers actually.... OK I take that back ;]

You could write a tune in this synth using the step sequencer and twiddle away for the whole tune but I think I need the safety of my sequencer to produce tunes!

How about some more tips for the 303 effect? Source waves etc? Sound like squares to me(?)
