Korg Tr (or other) power adapter - do you carry a backup?

Hi folks,

Following billbakers' advice on a recent thread I have started thinking of all the gear parts I should have a backup for. My first concern is the electricity supply for my korgs and I wanted to ask you if you always recommend korg's own adapters or whether having an adapter of the correct voltage/amperage is enough. I am especially interested in hearing about your experiences with non-korg adapters.

Cheers!

Cheers for the link, I searched for the european version of the adapter on internet and found it for 15€ a piece, so I bought one for each of my keyboards. What a deal being the original KORG adapter as well. I guess that defeats the purpose of my post!

Anyhow in case anyone is interested at some point, here's where I got them:

I was carrying extra transformers for my roland drum gear -- since taken out of rotation.

Lack of a spare PS is one reason I'm not using the KARMA live... have to get one some day.

I DO carry several extra power cords (std 3 pin - PC type) because I have a lot of gear that uses' em - triton, trinity, FX, JBL eon's, etc.

I haven't quite gotten to the point of replacing anything that need's a wall wart but will admit that I do look for a standard PS on anything new that I buy.

Just a question

Hi guys,

I have a question, hope you can help me.
I bought my Korg TR a couple of months ago in used condition. The thing is that it has been bought in Japan which naturally means that it come with a Japanese power supply. As they use different plugs and sockets in Japan than in Europe, I have to use an extra convertor to plug in the machine. Therefore I was thinking to buy an European power supply instead. It would make life easier.

Does anybody know, whether there are any significant differences between the Japanese and European adapters (aside from the plug)? Could I connect an European adapter to my TR without any problems? If so, would this be the right thing to buy?

Thanks a million!
