I think the brushed metal looks nice.

A lot better looking than the M3.

The layout reminds me VERY much of the Oasys. I'm curious what's it going to sound like and how it will be positioned: the successor of M3? Or a "lightweight" Oasys (that is pricewise, not featurewise)?

Obviously they do not repeat the mistake of marketing it as "Open" ...

Sina172 wrote:Dude, the M3 is SO DONE, That keyboard was a JOKE for crying out loud! I'm SO GLAD I never got an M3. That's ALL I'm gonna say. For a company that made the OASYS, the M3 was an embarrassment. It looked AND sounded like a toy and it's not that Korg could've have done better, it's that they SHOULD'VE done better. Period.

I can't WAIT to get my hands on KRONOS Tomorrow!!!

Just like my M50's.
Pardon me: you've bashed the M3 for a full page

said that it sounds embarassing [I feel a pain in the back every time I hit a brass chord, which is NEVER after the first week]

but you own a m50 and are proud and happy of it? :-k

"M50" as in "no sampler no aftertouch scaled down converters"?!?

What day of the week does your Multiple Personality Support Group meet?

Woah. This is actually OASYS PLUS.

Kronos is the FIRST hardware workstation offering DIRECT-FROM-DISK sample streaming like you have in software samplers. This means that 12 GB of samples on its internal SSD are ALL AVAILABLE WITHOUT PRELOAD.

This is amazing. Now imagine if you'll be able to replace the internal SSD with a BIGGER ONE!

i would have liked retractable screen for the kronos just like in the oasys.

pads can be useful sometimes to play difficult chords in quick sequence atleast for the non-virtuoso musicians like me. kronos not got it.

DAW integration is what i like the most in kronos as it would make things way easier to scribble in ideas, create infinite combinations and patches easily and store them for easy instant recall.

ADAT is quite handy when recording each element of a combination into its own track on the DAW. So far I have not found evidence that kronos supports it. But I guess with DAW integration you wouldn't really need it?

Kronos seems to be very much comparable to the mighty oasys. Atleast some of its new features can be theoretically released as an upgrade for the oasys. But not sure if korg will do it for marketing reasons.

Kronos is the Greek Titan who ate all his God-children 'til Zeus killed him and dragged 'em out of Daddy K and set things up Olympus.

Looks like Korgs Kronos has a belly full of drool-worthy synths in one package.

DRAG 'EM OUT!!

I had sworn I wouldn't get another synth... my wife should be seriously jealous of the time I'll be spending with this one.

Decisions, decisions....

It's really look's like OASYS with some pluses and some minuses.
One of the question's- where on this picture we are- O user's who paid a lot for "open" architecture.
Is it O compatible? Will we receive any upgrade of OS and/or sounds/karma's?

Oasys is, my folks, discontinued.

Discontinued means no updates, last time I checked. :P
