Kronos Grand Piano Demo - Frozen Falls

Greetings everybody.

I just finished a short film I produced of a morning doing photography at a frozen waterfall. I did some slowing down of the video playback to allow the effects of the water to be better appreciated....

The music score uses a lot of different instruments. But the one that you will all be most interested in, will be the Grand Piano. This is one of the two new grand pianos (there are far more than only 2 new pianos because presets were made to emphasize the harder hit samples earlier as well as other presets are for more emphasis on the very soft samples - preset #25) with an emphasis towards the soft samples. Listen closely and you'll also hear damper and key off noises throughout the piece. Also notice you never hear loops, because there are none......

The reverb on the piano is the built-in O-verb with a very long time setting (not a factory preset). I applied no additional effects to the piano so what you are hearing is straight out of the unit. Quite mind blowing (coming from someone with 2 terabytes of samples online right now).

Additional sounds from custom patches I sell for FM8 and Massive along with custom made sounds for Omnisphere (I'll be releasing a Power Pack for Omnisphere later this year) along with Kontact 4 and Logic Pro's Ultrabeat for the drums in the middle section. Everything was mixed by yours truly in Logic Pro. I applied no additional master processing to the mix so that it kept the sound and dynamics right where I wanted them.

The Film "Frozen Ponytail Falls" can be seen here:

I have also uploaded the song to my Soundcloud account that you are all welcome to download if you wish:

OH, and to those that are poo-poo'ing because of what is missing in Kronos, please enjoy just ONE of the many new things you will get.

Respect, Phat beats and Dreamy Pianos forever.

Beautiful.

Thank God one tune/demo where we can actually hear the piano, not an avalanche of notes.

Thank you very much for sharing your work. Nicely done. It's great to hear the new piano breathe...

Amazing dude! Very rich sound - the piano. Thanks for using your programming expertise for the Kronos presets.

Hi John,

very nice !

Peter

ps: seems that we do not only have the usage of KORG instruments in common (EOS5D  )

.. and what is of more importance  you know how to use it to get great photos.

I checked several new ones, but I stick to my EOS5D Mark I. Sometimes she needs some cleaning, but everything else is just great.

Wow, thank you for that!
I'm SO jazzed about the new pianos and how quickly it seems the effects can be applied and adjusted.
Those who know me know, I don't do much piano work, but I'll let you in on a little secret.
That's because I never had a piano I was very happy with (though the Oasys damper piano was darn close) but more importantly, I never had a keyboard I was happy with.
The Kronos 88 should solve both of those, nicely.
