Hey players. I need a tutorial or link to some help on how to set up my Korg NanoKontrol as a drawbar and Leslie on/off switch USB controller used with with the VB3 software running on my MacBook as a GarageBand plug-in. It works fine with the mouse pad on the laptop, but not real practical. I have downloaded all the drivers and software for the NanoKontrol and it works fine with GarageBand. But how exactly do I configure the NanoKontrol to run the VB3 software/plug-in and tweak the drawbars and Leslie on/off switch in real time?

I know it can be done, but I can't seem to find an online source of how to do this step by step. Can anyone here lend me a hand? The Korg M50 88 and the VB3 software, plus the NanoKontrol is like having a real B-3 organ that is about 400 lbs lighter if i can just get the proper configuration down of how to set it up to work.

I bought the nanoKontrol just for VB3. I'm not sure about the Mac version but on the PC, I just right clicked on the drawbar and told it to learn the CC# then I moved the slider up and down. Done. Repeat.

Good thing you didn't wait for the Nano2 series. They dropped the 9th slider from NanoKontrol. This boggles the mind...

An update on my progress, controlling drawbars and functions with the org Korg NanoKontrol and the VB3 software I use with GarageBand on my MacBook. I finally got the drawbars to respond in Scene 4 only so far. But I can's seem to figure out how to turn the Leslie On/Off from the NanoKontrol and still use the mouse pad from the MacBook. Any idea on how to use the NanoKontrol to work with the Leslie function?

I used the learn feature in VB3 and set two buttons for it - slow/fast.

I've just stumbled on this forum and I know it's an old topic, but I'm unable to get this to work. nanoKontrol & VB3.
(nitekatt2010 I've sent you a message - I hope you don't mind).

The learn function (as suggested) doesn't seem to respond at all. Also, I only ever have anything responding on VB3 on scene 4 of the nano. (I think you had the same thing).

Any help would seriously be appreciated.

I know this is an old post.

Today, I was about to get the NanoKontrol (to control VB3 organ) and, the only version offered in Argentina right now is Nanokontrol 2.

When I saw the specs, they've dropped the 9th fader in the new version...WTF?

I think I'm sticking with the CC asignments on the M50, via the 4 knobs.

I have the original ist gen Nanokontrol with the 9 sliders but slider one only controls volume. Even though there are 9 drawbars, I can't seem to program the nine sliders to control the nine drawbars in the VB3 program. Slider #2 control the first left drawbar. But I did find this controller and wonder if this might work with the M50.

Not sure. I'll look into it. The next question is, can I control GarageBand iOS on my new iPad 3 or use the iPad with the external M-50 controls or nanokontrol?

Hi guys, long time no see.

A couple of questions re the Nanokontrol 2 for the VB3 organ on a Macbook:

1) Is there a way to program one of the switches of the Nanokontrol 2 to Leslie stop? Currently - just with the M50 - I've programmed the M50's volume slider to Leslie fast, Slow and stop. And what about percussion ON/OFF?

2) If any of you guys are using the same combo (Macbook/Garageband/M50/ Vb3 organ), is there a way to make full use of just 8 faders as drawbars? I'm using the first 3 rotary knobs on the M50 for 888000000 and the last knob for the remaining 6 drawbars, all at the same time.

I bought the Nanokontrol 2 to use VB3 with Garageband and no results yet. Midi learn not working under OSX scenario but working under windows XP with a lot of latency and...windows...Hate it.

Just to be straightforward: I DON'T want to use the Nanokontrol 2 as a mixer for Garageband, just a FULL controller for VB3 organ under OSX via Garageband.
