pa800 or pa1x

I only play Middle Eastern music, I currently have a PA50 which I want to get rid of and get either a PA1X (NOT ELITE/PRO) or PA800 but can't decide which one is better for Middle Eastern music. I saw some of the videos on youtube of both PA1X and PA800 and to me they sound the same. They are both the same price but which one has better quality sounds? What's the difference between the OAYSIS and TRITON systems? I know the PA1X is an older model but does it really make a difference?

Hi
PA-800 is far better choice than Pa1x for oriental music due to bigger RAM space for the samples you'd needed. To be honest, it's just my opinion, some friends of mine says that Pa1x has stronger and clearer sound ! Personally, my suggestion is PA-800.

i had pa800 and my nick can tell u what im thinking of it...
in last year, almost every pa800 in my area had problems.... motherbord, ram memory or both.... i payed 400 euros for repairing, and after that it had same promblems 3 times... and then i traded it for pa1x... and it not true u have more memory.... i expanded my pa1x up to 96mb... and bought usb floppy emulator so now i have usb like on pa800.... or u can put sd card reader like one on pa50sd.... it ur choice....
i forgot to tell u... i opened pa800 and pa1x.... and difference is more than obvious.... pa1x is like mercedes in comparing to pa800 which reminds me on east european Trabant....
so, now choice is yours

Hi Neverkorgagain,
I'm very interested in knowing where you got the floppy emulator from. Can you advise make/model??
Is it easy to install?
Any info would be great.
Best,
(Humble but very happy 1xpro owner)

This is really on the wrong forum (but could apply to the PA1X and earlier)!!!
It relates only to keyboards which still have the old-fashioned diskette drive...
however - to answer your question....
what's the point of the emulator?
You no longer need floppy diskettes.
You have 100 diskettes immediately loadable from the USB drive.
I have one of these on my Karma keyboard - excellent investment...

Not on wrong forum, the guy wants to decide between those keyboards, so im just telling him advantages of this model.... i once bought pa800 (unfortunately) only because it was easyer to load from usb and i had 64mb ram on it.. Back then, i didnt now that this was possible on pa1x too, so as 96mb of ram...

U have to open ur keyboard, and just plug out all the screwdrivers and cables from floppy drive, and put emulator instead FD, and connect it againg... if u dont have some experience with this, it would be better to let that to someone with little more experience...
its now so difficult, but if u never done something like that, better dont do this.

Thank for the info. I've just ordered a floppy emulator from ebay. I'm a little nervous to install in my Pa1x but I'm going to give it a go!.
Best,

Which one did you get - there are a few on e-bay?
What did you have to pay?
Cheers
