I'm setting up a live system with a KP3, a microKontrol, a kaossilator, and a Yamaha MM6 synth. Just wondering if anyone has a live setup with some mixed components and how they use them?
I plan to send the mK midi out to the MM6, and the kl8r and MM6 thru the KP3, then send that output to a keyboard amp. I plan to load many samples into the KP3 to trigger live.
Any advice or experience with a similar setup?

be aware that loading samples from the SD card is fairly slow

I saw on the Grammy's last night a guy from Muse had both the Kaossilator Pro and KP3 in his rig setup. Don't know if he used them during their song though.

i feel like i here kaoss in their music fairly often, usually pretty low in the mix

and i swear phoenix uses lead 1 from the little ko1 on whatever song is on the radio right now...you hear it ring out at the end of the song

the only way to use the KO Pro and KP3 live is live "on the fly" sampling/looping. Relying on stored samples is almost the kiss of death. The sample features of the KP3 in a live environment is most useful during performance where you wish to keep a beat/rhythm going.

The looping features of the KO Pro should be looked at as more of an arp feature to keep the scale of notes going. You use the mini Kp to change pitch and the kp3 for everything else...and really thats the best way to use all components in a live set.

The KO and KP3 are multi use devices; these things are work horses designed to give you the most bang for your buck by being useful for any situation you need. However you have to look at where their uses fit the situation. You have a DAW, use them for external control. Working on sound sculpting? Then the sampling features are the best and you finalize the export into your DAW. Live situation? Live sampling and looping.
