Hi all!
Lokking for a new synth. Currently looking at Nord Lead 2x, Roland Gaia or Korg R3.
One question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Is the R3 multi-timbral? How many voices?
Thanks!

AFAIK it is!
However for not to big of a price difference, you can get a used radias rack, 4 timbres with two oscillators and noise generators each
20 voices
better everything. the R3 is great, but the radias IS its superior.
theres a thread on here about how someone was happier with the R3 then the Gaia, i myself do not like it (the gaia), sounds very meh. And Im not a personal fan of nord.

The R3 is two part multitimbral, where the parts can be layered, split, or assigned to two different midi channels. The max 8 polyphony is shared between the timbres. The Radias is 4 part multitimbral, except that using the drum pcm will use one timbre. A large percentage of the Radias presets use only one or two timbres, and many of the ones that use 4 timbres are using one for drum and another for a bass split, so if you get the bass and drums from elsewhere, you wouldn't necessarily need all 4 timbres for the R3 to handle the rest with 2 timbres. Still, the Radias is a formidable synth and quite a value in the $500-$700 price range.
