No sound from Audio CD

Hello,
When I load an Audio CD Track to the Sequencer it plays but there is not sound output. It used to work before and then it suddenly stopped.

However, if I load an MP3 from the same CD Drive into the Sequencer, it plays fine.

What could be the problem.

Regards,
Andrew

Is the CD drive the Korg CD-RW or a 3rd party one?

Hi,
It came with the keyboard so I assume it is a Korg one.

By audio CD do you mean wav CD format? - I was under the impression the Pa1x could only play mp3 not wav (I can't do either as I don't have the cd drive or mp3 expansion).

You are right Reuben - PA1XPro can play regular audio CDs or MP3 files (with MP3 board installed), not wav files..

Just want to confirm that you are actually in SONG PLAY mode - thanks.

Have you tried other CDs?
Do other CDs play OK?
Is your SEQ1/2 fader slider in the correct position (or central)?
It will not play if you have an audio CD track in each Sequencer - you can have only one Audio track in either sequencer but NOT in both.

Hello,

Thanks Pete.

Yes I am in Song play mode.
I have tried with different Audio CDs but no sound. However, when I load MP3s from a CD in the same drive it works.
The Fader SLider is in the right position - we always start up the Keyboard with the slider in the center as instructed by the manual.

Yes, we play it with only one Audio track. We don't usually load both Sequencers at the same time for Audio CDs. We only load both if we are using MIDI or MP3 tracks.

Andrew

I'm running out of ideas/questions....
What OS level are you at?

When you say it worked before have you made any OS changes since it last worked?

Cheers

It is a Analog problem.
Are you using Output L/R or 1/2 :?:

You have to open the Keyboard.
Behind the CDROM drive, there are a Audio Cable there are going to the Mainboard (I think).
It is a 4 pole cable (White/Shield/Shield/Red) lenght=230mm.
Find this cable and check if one of the plugs are lose

Hello,
@Pete - we have not made any OS changes. We are on version 3.0

Thanks Kjeld. We will check and see if the cables on the CD drive are loose.
We mostly use Output L (Mono).

The CD can only be heard from the output L/R ;-) NEVER from output 1/2.
The MP3 can both ;-)
