bit clueless here, i can use my Radias keyboard to trigger my Elektron MM, can i do this to trigger / sound my Tetra ?

I have the MM, connected via midi , in and out to the Radias , i also now want to connect the Tetra.
how should I do this ?
can anyone help..

I dont know what an elektron MM is but i will assume its a module

Radias 0ut - MM in
MM thru - to Tetra in

or just radias out to tetra
tetra thru to MM

thanks for your reply , The MM is a Elektron monomachine (six channel programmable multi synth ).
when you say controller are you refering to MM as an example of a controller.

basically would like to link all 3 machines using midi as you suggest , one of them will be the master .
going to try the Radias as the master and the Tetra controlling the MM , but all in time with each other.

well then youd go Radias out to tetras in and thru to the MM
go to the Global or master page of the tetra and MM and make sure its midi clock is set to external, and make sure the radias is sending out midi clock (it may do it automatically, or you will need to set it to post midi)

Also make sure you have each machine on a different midi channel, have the radias be channel 1 for example, tetra channel 2 and MM channel 3
Then since the radias is your master you will have to do this to control the other boards without hearing anything from the radias
Set up an INIT PROG with OSCILLATOR VALUME DOWN (NOT THE AMP VOLUME) (this is vital, amp is sent through midi, and will make your other synths not sound!!!!!)
set the Timbre's midi channel to 2 or 3 depending on wich you wanna control. Save patch.

Disclaimer: I am coming from the standpoint of using controllers to control my radias, never the other way around, as i do not have the radias keyboard, only the rack. If this doesnt work, im sure someone will chime in and give you better info, but if i had to make a very educated guess, there you have it! Also i know you hear this a lot probably on this forum, but read the manual, im SURE they have a section on this.

thats the manual, go to page 17, youll see they give a very basic explanation of how to do it. however if you look on the bottom of the page, it hints at using the individual timbre channels to control external devices, so give both a try.

Sorry for long reply, building a midi daisy chain can be a pain in the arse if your synth doesnt have some basic workstation features, wich unfortunately, the radias lacks

no, "controller" usually means a keyboard (or other surface) which you play and it sends midi data. Unless you have the original SFX-6 monomachine with a keyboard, the monomachine isn't your controller.

you don't want to use the tetra as a controller, it only has a few knobs and no keys. you want your Radias keyboard to be the controller.

midi OUT from the radias to one of your modules (either MM or tetra) then midi THRU from that module to the other module's midi IN
