Korg Oasys Midi Latency

I can't find answers to this on my own. Please help anyone and everyone. I am trying to record midi tracks from my PC/Nuendo and Oasys. I am finding that the delay on the midi data is making the Oasys sound unacceptable and very uninspiring, as the sound is very late. I've ran a test using the Oasys as the Master Midi for three tracks triggering the data of the Oasys, Roland Xv5080 and Yamaha Motif. All the units beat the Oasys in latency. It is very significant. I'm not a master of Midi by any means, so please, offer all tips as to how to rectify or get around this issue.

Waht about your soundcard or your audio interface?
Which latency do you have there? More than 256 samples?
I don't see how this can be an Oasys problem. I think you should be more clear about your connection system and if you are recording directly by sending Midi-data to the Oasys and then recording, or if you play and record the Midi data and record the audio later
Cannot figure what you are really doing.
I use Cubase and have no problems like you describe.

I have a RME 96/52 for my soundcard. I lowered the sample buffer to 256. It seems to have less noticeable delay. Thanks. I was recording midi data in Nuendo. Then, recording the audio. I noticed the delay when I was playing the keyboard, and when I was playing it back. It even recorded the audio with the delay. I had my buffer setting at 512. I was surprised that I never had any delay issues with older gear at that setting, which is why I never thought to change it.

Sina,

My experience with Windows XP is completely opposite to your description. I'm running XP pro with service pack 3. Never a burp OS-wise for me.

I have never had any issues with XP pro. It works great for me. No crashes on my pc (knock on wood). My question comes from the fact that the Midi data from the Oasys was the only one of my keyboards coming in late. The Triton, motif, xv5080 recorded properly. However, lowering the buffer rectifies this delay, but the other keyboards still come in faster than the Oasys. I'm interested to know if this could be something to do with the OS in the Oasys.

Win XP has always been very reliable here. Like most things, it has its pros and cons but its usually down to the user to set it up correctly, and some audio hardware drivers and apps may work better with it than others.

But there you go, just my own personal experience :)
