How much do ya'll think a used, excellent condition, Korg Pa2x Pro & a Korg Pa800 will be once the Korg Pa3x's are launched and up for sale in USA!?

Re: PRICE DROP
That's the destiny of %99.9 of any kind of electronic devices though. I'd say half price or less....sexykorgpa800 wrote:Korg keyboards are like Automobiles with mileage Lol

A general "rule-of-thumb" is 40-60% of the "new price" depending on condition - the hardest thing is figuring out what the "new price" was as there is such a huge range.
The PA2Xpro here sold for from $4000-$7999 (a local dealer here still is expecting $7,999 for it). I recently asked this dealer (not my normal dealer!!) if he had an ETA for the PA3X and he responded "what's a PA3X?"
. I then asked the same question regarding the Kronos - same answer - they are supposed to be a Korg reseller - so you see, it's a nightmare here already!!!
Locally the PA1Xpro sold from $,5000-$7,999 but one of the last new ones (I was aware of) sold for $1,800 (Elite too)
It is madness trying to work out how to price these second-hand.
Cheers
Pete

I asked a local dealer about the price of the PA3X last week, he told me that the Australian RRP would be around AU$7000. At the current exchange rate that's double the expected USA price.
I wonder how that will effect the used and new 'old stock' PA2X prices here ?

Hi Steve
I am considering flying to the US and buying my PA3X - I reckon I will still come home with change even after the travel cost

I did some web surfing yesterday and found that the price in USA is currently $3999 at most on-line stores. I then checked the USPS ( United states postal Service - NOT UPS freight ) and the PA3X box dimensions are within their limits and weight restrictions. International postage ( 5-10 days delivery ) works out at just over AU$500.
Also I have a friend who lives in New Hampshire ( no sales tax ) who has said that I an get a PA3X delivered to her house which is free delivery within USA from some stores, and she will then take it down the local post office and send it marked as a gift, value $999, which may mean little or no customs duty in Australia. So, that's a PA3x delivered to Australia for less than AU$3500.
Companies like Sweetwater must still be making a profit at that price, so how can Aussie dealers justify the $3500 extra ?

Careful Steve, check the Australian government web site and you will see how much extra you will HAVE to pay in duties and taxes - it makes it not worth the effort.
You are lucky if you can get a US friend to help... but technically you are breaking the tax laws.
Cheers

Aussie dealers and whoesalers continue to rip us off BLIND even though our dollar is at an all time high. Simply buy it from overseas and save yourself the $3,000AUD. The local retailers are spewing and carrying on about not having a local warranty if purchased overseas.... well the amount saved by buying overseas far outweighs the benefit of a 12 month local warranty IMHO!!!!!!!!!!steve m wrote:I did some web surfing yesterday and found that the price in USA is currently $3999 at most on-line stores. Billy Hydes and Allans (to name just 2 aussie wide retailers) think that we're stupid enough to pay $7,000 for a Korg PA3X that can be purchased overseas for half the price..... they've got rocks in their heads. I haven't purchased anything of serious value from an aussie retailer in years because of the BIG AUSSIE MUSIC RIP OFF!
MIDITEK MUSIC PRODUCTION RECORDING & TUITION- albums, demos, jingles. Recording, arranging & mixing.
Oh sorry I forgot.... Billy Hydes and Allans are the same thing now! So there's no 2 competing retailers anymore and that of course means less competition and price mark ups!
Strange how this has happened after years of Billy Hydes & Allans hating each other's guts! Was the UN involved in them getting together LOLLOL

Billy Hydes & Allans are owned by (or own - can't remember which way around) MusicLink our only Australian distributor.
Hmmmmmmmmm
Billy's currently selling PA2XPro, yes, PA2Xpro, for $6,999.

Last Saturday I played the glamorous PAX3 in a very well known music store in Rome.
I own PA1X since many years, and still, even after tried the Pax3, I love my PA1X.
BUT.... PAX3 is my NEXT KEYBOARD.
What really impressed me is the construction: the keyboard looks STRONG and PROFESSIONAL (I talk about the "small" one, the 61 keys).
It really looks heavy Duty, and is beautifully dark grey, metal, and shows HIGH QUALITY in any aspect, outside and inside. No plastic!!!!!!! No fake silver!!! A beauty.
The interface is easier and faster. Sounds and styles, some improuvement, so far (I spent only half an hour....).
I did not have the same professional feeling after i30.
Price IMHO is very appropriate (€.2900,00 without the optional speaker).
Wellcome PAX3, a diva...
